“GENUINE ART HAS THE POWER TO AWAKEN AND LIBERATE” ~ CHÖGYAM TRUNGPA
Tibetan Buddhist Master Chögyam Trungpa liked to call spiritual art “Dharma Art”, and he would teach it as a path equal to any sitting or contemplation practice. Dharma Art can teach us about fearlessness and help us find confidence in our innate enlightened nature.
We will be using the creative art of painting to access otherwise hidden aspects of ourselves. Much of the time the teachings can stay in the conceptual realm, but through creativity, we can break through into authentic experience.
**This workshop will be done in relative silence.**
Who is this for?
– Meditators that would like to deepen their practice, using techniques that may be new to them.
– Anyone looking for new ways to access the meditative space, whether beginner or advanced
– Artists that would like to find new ways to access creativity.
– Those that believe having fun is a spiritual exercise!
• We will be painting, this is not a technical “how to paint” class. In fact, “how not to paint” would be more fitting.
• Feel free to bring your own painting supplies if you like.
• We will be very meditative, most of the time we will be in silence
• Open to all skill levels of both meditation and art
